WEEKEND UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 930 cases

Over the weekend, Bedfordshire recorded 932 new cases, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
Out of that figure, Bedford has 283 new cases, with a total of 11,032 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 280 cases, with a total of 12,964, and Luton has 369 cases, with a new total of 15,812.

Hide AdThere were 14 deaths in Bedford (353), 10 deaths in Luton (375) and five deaths in Central Bedfordshire (434).
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 25,812 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 65,043 and Milton Keynes has 16,733 cases.
In the UK, as of Sunday 24 January 2021, 6,353,321 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 469,660 had received their second dose.
The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 3,647,463. The number of deaths is 97,939.
