WEEKEND UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 70 Covid cases

Over the weekend, Bedfordshire recorded just 74 new cases, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
Out of that figure, Bedford has 13 new cases, with a total of 13,397 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 13 cases, with a total of 15,826, and Luton has 48 cases, with a new total of 20,232.

Hide AdFrom Friday, Public Health England has changed the way cases are reported again.
Cases that have been identified through a positive rapid lateral flow test will be removed for people who took Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests within three days that were all negative.
There was one death in Bedford (485), no deaths in Luton (496) and none in Central Bedfordshire (569).
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,226 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,234 and Milton Keynes has 19,944 cases.

Hide AdIn the UK, as of Sunday, April 11, 32,121,353 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 7,466,540 had received their second dose.
The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 4,369,775. The number of deaths is 127,087.
