WEEKEND UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 230 cases since Friday

Over the weekend, Bedfordshire recorded 234 new cases since Friday, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Out of that figure, Bedford has 54 new cases, with a total of 13,136 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 63 cases, with a total of 15,257, and Luton has 117 cases, with a new total of 19,133.

There were two deaths in Bedford (480), one death in Luton (483) and two deaths in Central Bedfordshire (564).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,402 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 74,626 and Milton Keynes has 19,299 cases.

In the UK, as of Sunday, March 7, 22,213,112 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 1,122,402 had received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 4,218,520. The number of deaths is 124,501.
