WEEKEND UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 230 cases

Over the weekend, Bedfordshire recorded 231 new cases, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Out of that figure, Bedford has 57 new cases, with a total of 11,032 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 69 cases, with a total of 12,964, and Luton has 105 cases, with a new total of 15,812.

There were eight deaths in Bedford (451), four deaths in Luton (459) and two deaths in Central Bedfordshire (530).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 29,051 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 72,306 and Milton Keynes has 18,446 cases.

In the UK, as of Sunday, February 14, 15,062,189 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 537,715 had received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 4,038,078. The number of deaths is 117,166.
