WEEKEND UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 200 cases over Easter

Over the Easter weekend, Bedfordshire recorded 208 new cases, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Out of that figure, Bedford has 22 new cases, with a total of 13,382 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 54 cases, with a total of 15,804, and Luton has 132 cases, with a new total of 20,136.

There were no deaths in Bedford (484), Luton (495) or Central Bedfordshire (568).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,173 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,212 and Milton Keynes has 19,880 cases.

In the UK, as of Monday, April 5, 31,581,623 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 5,432,126 had received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 4,362,150. The number of deaths is 126,862.
