WEEKEND UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 140 cases

But there were no deaths in the county

Over the weekend, Bedfordshire recorded 141 new cases, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Out of that figure, Bedford has 27 new cases, with a total of 13,274 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 36 cases, with a total of 15,533, and Luton has 78 cases, with a new total of 19,643.

There were no deaths in Bedford (483), none in Luton (490) or in Central Bedfordshire (567).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,822 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 75,452 and Milton Keynes has 19,642 cases.

In the UK, as of Sunday, March 21, 27,630,970 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 2,228,772 had received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 4,296,583. The number of deaths is 126,155.
