Over the weekend, 397 people in Bedfordshire were diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England

Out of that total, Bedford had 62 new cases with a total of 3,075, Central Bedfordshire had 82 new cases with a total of 3,319, while Luton recorded 253 with a new total of 5,196.

There were two deaths in Bedford (194), two deaths in Luton (210) and one death in Central Bedfordshire (250).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 6,708 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 15,927 and Milton Keynes has 3,343 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 18,662 and now stands at 1,512,045. The number of deaths has risen by 398 to 55,024.
