Two new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at Bedford Hospital Trust in the past 24 hours, the latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show 140 people had died in hospital at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust as of 5pm on Monday (May 11).

The number of cases of coronavirus now stands at 500 in Bedford. Central Bedfordshire has no new cases with 553 and Luton still has 666.

As of today, Buckinghamshire has a total of 891 cases, Hertfordshire has 2,641 and Milton Keynes has 499.

On Sunday (May 10), Boris Johnson said people should return to work if they can't do so from home - but they should try to avoid public transport for social distancing reasons.

He also said there would now be no limit to the amount of exercise allowed.

The new figures are now recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 226,463. The number of deaths has been recorded as 32,692.
