As of today (June 7), Bedford recorded 51 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 14,775 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485), Central Bedfordshire (571) or Luton (501).

Central Bedfordshire has 29 new Covid cases with a total of 16,559, while Luton recorded 42, with a new total of 21,284.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,198 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 78,077 and Milton Keynes has 20,507 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 40,460,576 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 27,921,294 have received their second dose.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,683 and now stands at 4,522,476. There was one death, bringing the total to 127,841.
