As of today (June 8), Bedford recorded 41 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 14,816 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) or Luton (501) - and the figure was revised down by one in Central Bedfordshire (570).

Central Bedfordshire has 27 new Covid cases with a total of 16,586, while Luton recorded 43, with a new total of 21,327.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,237 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 78,148 and Milton Keynes has 20,536 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 40,573,517 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 28,227,362 have received their second dose.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 6,048 and now stands at 4,528,442. There were 13 deaths, bringing the total to 127,854.
