UPDATE: Over 30 people in Bedford test positive for Covid in 24 hours

As of today (May 26), Bedford recorded 31 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 14,321 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485), Luton (499) or Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 18 new Covid cases with a total of 16,292, while Luton recorded 20 with a new total of 20,949.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,840 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,490 and Milton Keynes has 20,300 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 38,378,564 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 23,616,498 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 3,180 and now stands at 4,470,297. The number of deaths has risen by nine to 127,748.
