UPDATE: Only seven people in Bedford test positive for Covid
No deaths recorded in the town - and just six nationally
As of today (April 26), Bedford recorded just seven new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,481 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
There were no deaths in Bedford (485), Central Bedfordshire (570) or Luton (499).
Central Bedfordshire has 12 new Covid cases with a total of 15,951, while Luton recorded 15 with a new total of 20,578.
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,520 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,744 and Milton Keynes has 20,086 cases.
The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
In the UK, as of today, 33,752,885 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 12,897,123 have received their second dose.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 1,712 and now stands at 4,406,946. The number of deaths has risen by six to 127,434.
