As of today (February 22), Bedford has recorded 19 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 12,855 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one death in Central Bedfordshire (548), no deaths in Luton (472) and one death in Bedford (464).

Central Bedfordshire has 43 new Covid cases with a total of 14,925, while Luton recorded 51 with a new total of 18,577.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 29,748 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 73,440 and Milton Keynes has 18,854 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 17,723,840 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 624,325 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 9,834 and now stands at 4,126,150. The number of deaths has risen by 178 to 120,757.
