UPDATE: Nearly 30 people test positive for Covid in Bedford

As of today (June 14), Bedford recorded 28 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 15,015 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (486) or Luton (501) - and the figure was revised down by one in Central Bedfordshire (571) for the sixth time.

Central Bedfordshire has 18 new Covid cases with a total of 16,750, while Luton recorded 26, with a new total of 21,506.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,451 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 78,583 and Milton Keynes has 20,685 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In Bedford, as of today, 113,229 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 76,850 have received their second dose. In the UK, 71,672,208 people have been vaccinated.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 7,742 and now stands at 4,573,419. There were just three deaths, bringing the total to 127,907.
