As of today (May 25), Bedford recorded 43 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 14,290 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) or Luton (49) - and one in Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 13 new Covid cases with a total of 16,274, while Luton recorded 16 with a new total of 20,929.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,825 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,444 and Milton Keynes has 20,297 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 38,192,417 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 23,228,511 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,493 and now stands at 4,467,310. The number of deaths has risen by 15 to 127,739.
