UPDATE: Just four people test positive in Bedford for Covid

As of today (April 20), Bedford recorded only four new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,442 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485), Central Bedfordshire (569) or Luton (497).

Central Bedfordshire has four 10 new Covid cases with a total of 15,907, while Luton recorded 20 with a new total of 20,471.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,401 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,568 and Milton Keynes has 20,037 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 33,032,120 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 10,425,790 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,524 and now stands at 4,393,307. The number of deaths has risen by 33 to 127,307.
