UPDATE: Just eight people test positive for Covid in Bedford

As of today (April 28), Bedford recorded eight new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,507 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) or Luton (499) but one in Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has eight new Covid cases with a total of 15,975, while Luton recorded 11 with a new total of 20,613.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,561 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,808 and Milton Keynes has 20,109 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 33,959,908 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 13,581,076 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,166 and now stands at 4,411,797. The number of deaths has risen by 29 to 127,480.
