Today (May 6), Bedford recorded five new cases with a total of 476 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus.

In Central Bedfordshire, there are four new cases with a total of 517, while Luton has recorded no new cases and has a total of 628.

As of today, Buckinghamshire has a total of 864 cases, Hertfordshire has 2,434 and Milton Keynes are 484.

Members of the public are still being urged to remain indoors as much as possible to halt the spread of coronavirus.

The new figures are now recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 201,101. The number of deaths has been recorded as 30,076.
