UPDATE: Covid cases remain low in Bedford

As of today (April 8), Bedford has recorded just seven new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,403 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (484), none in Central Bedfordshire (568) and none in Luton (496).

Central Bedfordshire has 12 new Covid cases with a total of 15,833, while Luton recorded 26 with a new total of 20,213.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,231 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,311 and Milton Keynes has 19,920 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 3,030 to 4,370,321. The number of deaths has risen by 53 to 126,980.

As of April 7, in the UK, 31,807,124 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 6,091,905 had received their second dose.
