UPDATE: Bedfordshire records more than 1,000 cases since Thursday

Bedfordshire recorded 1,025 new cases since Thursday, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Out of that figure, Bedford has 301 new cases, with a total of 11,700 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus; Central Bedfordshire has 316 cases, with a total of 13,697, and Luton has 408 cases, with a new total of 16,803.

There were 20 deaths in Bedford (393), 13 deaths in Luton (408) and 14 deaths in Central Bedfordshire (475).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 27,282 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 68,494 and Milton Keynes has 17,550 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of Sunday, January 31, 8,977,329 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 491,053 had received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 3,817,176. The number of deaths is 106,158.
