As of today (February 8), Bedford has recorded 82 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 12,298 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one death in Central Bedfordshire (508), five deaths in Bedford (429) and the number of deaths in Luton was revised down by one (433),.

Central Bedfordshire has 69 new Covid cases with a total of 14,287, while Luton recorded 94 with a new total of 17,590.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 28,468 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 71,104 and Milton Keynes has 18,130 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 12,294,006 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 512,581 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 14,104 and now stands at 3,959,784. The number of deaths has risen by 333 to 112,798.
