UPDATE: Bedford records over 30 new cases of Covid in the last 24 hours

As of today (June 17), Bedford recorded 38 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 15,106 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Luton (504), Central Bedfordshire (571) or Bedford (481).

Central Bedfordshire has 16 new Covid cases with a total of 16,824, while Luton recorded 32, with a new total of 21,598.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,609 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 78,921 and Milton Keynes has 20,747 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 11,007 to 4,600,623. The number of deaths has risen by 19 to 127,945.

As of June 16, in the UK, 42,216,654 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 30,675,207 had received their second dose.

And in Bedford, 114,386 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 78,477 have received their second dose.
