UPDATE: Bedford records over 200 new coronavirus cases today

As of today (January 20), Bedford has recorded 214 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 10,482 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Central Bedfordshire also has 234 new Covid cases with a total of 12,408, while Luton recorded 246 with a new total of 15,066.

There were four deaths recorded in Bedford (325), 15 deaths in Luton (353) and six deaths in Central Bedfordshire (411).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 24,597 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 62,194 and Milton Keynes has 15,997.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 38,905 and now stands at 3,505,754. The number of deaths has risen by 1,820 to 93,290.

In the UK, as of January 19, 4,609,740 people in the UK had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 460,625 had received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
