UPDATE: Bedford records over 20 new cases of coronavirus today

As of today (November 27), Bedford has 25 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 3,230 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Central Bedfordshire has 25 new Covid cases with a total of 3,477, while Luton recorded 87 with a new total of 5,586.

There was one new death in Bedford (196), one death in Luton (216) and one death in Central Bedfordshire (255).

Bedford and Bedfordshire have been placed in Tier 2 in the government's three tier system.Read full story here.Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 7,176 cases, Hertfordshire has 16,948 and Milton Keynes has 3,612 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 16,022 and now stands at 1,589,301.

The number of deaths has risen by 521 to 57,551.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
