UPDATE: Bedford records over 100 new coronavirus cases today

As of today (January 19), Bedford has recorded 107 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 10,268 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Central Bedfordshire also has 137 new Covid cases with a total of 12,174, while Luton recorded 177 with a new total of 14,820.

There were six deaths recorded in Bedford (321), one death in Luton (338) and ten deaths in Central Bedfordshire (405).

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 24,246 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 61,366 and Milton Keynes has 15,813.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 33,355 and now stands at 3,466,849. The number of deaths has risen by 1,610 to 91,470.

In the UK, as of January 18, 4,266,577 people in the UK had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 456,866 had received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
