UPDATE: Bedford records nearly 30 positive cases of Covid in 24 hours

As of today (June 15), Bedford recorded 26 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 15,041 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (486) or Luton (501) - and one in Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 30 new Covid cases with a total of 16,780, while Luton recorded 35, with a new total of 21,541.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,492 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 78,676 and Milton Keynes has 20,704 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In Bedford, as of today, 113,571 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 77,440 have received their second dose. In the UK, 72,040,763 people have been vaccinated.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 7,673 and now stands at 4,581,006. There were 10 deaths, bringing the total to 127,917.
