As of today (January 25), Bedford has recorded 68 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 11,100 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were four deaths in Bedford (357), four deaths in Luton (379) and five deaths in Central Bedfordshire (439).

Central Bedfordshire has 97 new Covid cases with a total of 13,061, while Luton recorded 132 with a new total of 15,944.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 25,987 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 65,517 and Milton Keynes has 16,858 cases.

In the UK, as of today, 6,573,570 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 470,478 have received their second dose. ​

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 22,195 and now stands at 3,669,658. The number of deaths has risen by 592 to 98,531.
