As of today (February 1), Bedford has recorded 56 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 11,756 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one death in Luton (409), none in Central Bedfordshire (475) - while the number of deaths was revised down by one in Bedford (392).

Central Bedfordshire has 98 new Covid cases with a total of 13,795, while Luton recorded 107 with a new total of 16,910.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 27,423 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 68,886 and Milton Keynes has 17,649 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 9,296,367 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 494,209 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 21,088 and now stands at 3,835,783. The number of deaths has risen by 406 to 106,564.
