As of today (February 2), Bedford has recorded 77 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 11,833 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were five deaths in Luton (414), 11 deaths in Central Bedfordshire (486) and nine deaths in Bedford (401).

Central Bedfordshire has 71 new Covid cases with a total of 13,866, while Luton recorded 91 with a new total of 17,001.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 27,557 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 69,184 and Milton Keynes has 17,711 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 9,646,715 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 496,796 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 16,840 and now stands at 3,852,623. The number of deaths has risen by 1,449 to 108,013.
