As of today (January 27), Bedford has recorded 128 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 11,263 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were nine deaths in Bedford (371), 10 deaths in Luton (389) and 10 deaths in Central Bedfordshire (457).

Central Bedfordshire has 104 new Covid cases with a total of 13,224, while Luton recorded 169 with a new total of 16,222.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 26,300 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 66,343 and Milton Keynes has 17,069 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 7,164,387 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 474,156 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 25,308 and now stands at 3,715,054. The number of deaths has risen by 1,725 to 101,887.
