UPDATE: Bedford records 38 new cases of Covid in the last 24 hours

As of today (June 18), Bedford recorded 38 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 15,144 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one new death recorded in Bedford (482), and no new deaths recorded in Luton (504), or Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 21 new Covid cases with a total of 16,845, while Luton recorded 29, with a new total of 21,627.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,663 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 79,041 and Milton Keynes has 20,780 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 10,476 to 4,610,893. The number of deaths has risen by 11 to 127,956.

As of June 17, in the UK, 42,460,632 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 30,898,467 had received their second dose.

And in Bedford, 114,799 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 78,663 have received their second dose.
