As of today (December 3), Bedford has 29 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 3,381 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one death in Bedford (201), one death in Luton (221) and two deaths in Central Bedfordshire (259).

As of yesterday (December 2), the town - which had been in the medium tier before lockdown - has now be lumped in with the whole of the county in the 'high' Tier 2.

Central Bedfordshire has 29 new Covid cases with a total of 3,692, while Luton recorded 94 with a new total of 6,086.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 14,879 and now stands at 1,674,134. The number of deaths has risen by 414 to 60,113.
