UPDATE: Bedford records 21 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours

As of today (May 6), Bedford recorded 21 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,603 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) Luton (499) or Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 11 new Covid cases with a total of 16,042, while Luton recorded 19 with a new total of 20,713.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,653 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,033 and Milton Keynes has 20,151 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,613 to 4,428,553. The number of deaths has risen by 13 to 127,583.

As of May 5, in the UK, 34,934,171 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 16,291,719 had received their second dose.
