UPDATE: Bedford records 20 new cases in the last 24 hours

As of today (March 4), Bedford has recorded 20 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,082 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one death recorded in Bedford (478), no deaths recorded in Central Bedfordshire (562), and three recorded in Luton (482).

Central Bedfordshire has 23 new Covid cases with a total of 15,194, while Luton recorded 42 with a new total of 19,016.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,273 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 74,398 and Milton Keynes has 19,205 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 6,573 and now stands at 4,201,358. The number of deaths has risen by 242 to 124,025.

As of March 3, in the UK, 20,982,571 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 963,862 had received their second dose.
