UPDATE: Bedford records 13 new cases of Covid
There were five deaths nationally
As of today (June 21), Bedford recorded 13 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 15,203 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
There were no deaths in Bedford (482), Central Bedfordshire (571) or Luton (504).
Central Bedfordshire has 13 new Covid cases with a total of 16,908, while Luton recorded 26, with a new total of 21,707.
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,800 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 79,438 and Milton Keynes has 20,862 cases.
The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
In Bedford, as of today, 115,871 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 79,852 have received their second dose. In the UK, 74,577,678 people have been vaccinated.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 10,633 and now stands at 4,640,507. There were five deaths, bringing the total to 127,981.
