UPDATE: Bedford has six new cases of coronavirus

Yesterday (May 25), Bedford recorded six new cases since Friday, bringing the total to 609.

In Luton, there were 15 new cases with a total of 722. In Central Bedfordshire, there were five new cases with a total of 619.

In Buckinghamshire, the total is 987, Milton Keynes has 509 cases and Hertfordshire has 2,845 cases in total.

On Sunday, May 10, Boris Johnson said people should return to work if they can't do so from home - but they should try to avoid public transport for social distancing reasons. Some shops are also beginning to open with social distancing measures in place.

The Prime Minister also said there would now be no limit to the amount of exercise allowed.

The new figures are now recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 261,184. The number of deaths has been recorded as 36,914.
