As of today (March 9), Bedford has recorded 15 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,156 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (481), one death in Central Bedfordshire (565) and one in Luton (484).

Central Bedfordshire has 19 new Covid cases with a total of 15,293, while Luton recorded 15 with a new total of 19,176.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,462 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 74,762 and Milton Keynes has 19,353 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 22,592,528 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 1,181,431 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,766 and now stands at 4,228,998. The number of deaths has risen by 231 to 124,797.
