UPDATE: Bedford cases back in single figures again as eight people test positive

As of today (March 10), Bedford has recorded eight new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,164 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one death in Bedford (482), no deaths in Central Bedfordshire (565) and one in Luton (485).

Central Bedfordshire has 19 new Covid cases with a total of 15,312, while Luton recorded 17 with a new total of 19,193.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,494 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 74,812 and Milton Keynes has 19,374 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 22,809,829 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 1,254,353 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,926 and now stands at 4,234,924. The number of deaths has risen by 190 to 124,987.
