UPDATE: Almost 30 people test positive for Covid in Bedford for second day running

As of today (May 11), Bedford recorded 29 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,722 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) or Luton (499) and the figures was revised down by one again in Central Bedfordshire (570).

Central Bedfordshire has 10 new Covid cases with a total of 16,082, while Luton recorded 14 with a new total of 20,762.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,715 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,185 and Milton Keynes has 20,196 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 35,587,348 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 18,088,385 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,474 and now stands at 4,439,691. The number of deaths has risen by 20 to 127,629.
