UPDATE: Almost 30 people test positive for Covid in Bedford
There were six deaths nationally - including one in Central Bedfordshire
As of today (June 9), Bedford recorded 27 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 14,843 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
There were no deaths in Bedford (485) or Luton (501) - and one in Central Bedfordshire (571).
Central Bedfordshire has 20 new Covid cases with a total of 16,606, while Luton recorded 20, with a new total of 21,347.
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,254 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 78,199 and Milton Keynes has 20,563 cases.
The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
In the UK, as of today, 40,710,319 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 28,540,844 have received their second dose.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 7,540 and now stands at 4,535,754. There were six deaths, bringing the total to 127,860.
