As of today (May 14), Bedford recorded 29 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,824 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) or Luton (499) or Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 23 new Covid cases with a total of 16,132, while Luton recorded 12 with a new total of 20,795

Bedford Today has also revealed the areas in Bedford where Covid infections have risen as the Indian variant takes a holdMeanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,754 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,257 and Milton Keynes has 20,229 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 36,115,955 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 19,319,010 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,193 and now stands at 4,446,824. The number of deaths has risen by 17 to 127,668.
