Today (May 5), Bedford recorded 15 new cases with a total of 471 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus.

In Central Bedfordshire, there is one new case with a total of 513, while Luton has recorded no new cases and has a total of 628.

As of today, Buckinghamshire has a total of 859 cases, Hertfordshire has 2,411 and Milton Keynes are 479.

Members of the public are still being urged to remain indoors as much as possible to halt the spread of coronavirus.

The new figures are now recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 194,990. The number of deaths has been recorded as 29,427.
