UPDATE: 13 people test positive as cases in Bedford remain low

As of today (March 2), Bedford has recorded only 13 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,046 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were two deaths in Bedford (477), three in Central Bedfordshire (562), and two in Luton (479).

Central Bedfordshire has 23 new Covid cases with a total of 15,145, while Luton recorded 41 with a new total of 18,946.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,197 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 74,248 and Milton Keynes has 19,168 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 20,478,619 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 844,098 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 6,391 and now stands at 4,188,400. The number of deaths has risen by 343 to 123,296.
