Residents are being asked to take care and continue to follow hands, face, space and fresh air advice this bank holiday weekend, following a rise in cases of Covid-19 in Bedford borough.

Vicky Head, director of public health at Bedford Borough Council said: “Across Bedford borough and the wider country, people have made incredible efforts to slow the spread of the virus and keep our communities safe, from the lockdown earlier this year, to the slow relaxation of restrictions which has brought us to this point.

“This bank holiday weekend we’re able to meet with another household or in a group of up to six people. We’ve seen an increase in cases over recent days so we are asking everyone to continue following hands, face, space and fresh air advice.

"If you’re meeting up with friends and family stay safe, wrap up warm and stay outside to stop the virus spreading.”
