Over 200 people - including Jean, 79 - receive Covid jab as another mass vaccination centre opens in Bedford

On Monday, a new mass vaccination centre opened its doors in Bedford with more than 200 members of the public receiving their jab on the first day.
And for one of lucky recipient - Jean Wright, who will be 80 in three weeks - it's certainly given her peace of mind Watch below

Hide AdThe new centre - at Bedford Heights - is in addition to the ones already opened at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara Temple, in Ford End Road, and King's House on Ampthill Road.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service station commander Rob Hulatt has been working with NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commission Groups to ensure the smooth set up and running of the centres.
It is hoped they will welcome around 500 members of the public each day to receive their vaccinations over the next 10 months.
After receiving her first jab, Jean Wright said: "I'm just pleased to have it. It's a life saver. There's nothing to be frightened of at all. Why wouldn't you have it?"

Hide AdArea commander, Ian McLaren said: “Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are working with partners to set up another five centres over the coming weeks. We are fully committed as a service to working with the NHS to ensure that these centres are set up efficiently and effectively, utilising our experience and expertise in managing dynamic situations.
“The priority is to be able to vaccinate as many people as we can, as quickly as we can in order to keep the communities of Bedfordshire safe.”
The next centre is currently being set up is in Shefford and the other four centres will follow.
