Magpas Air Ambulance reassures Bedfordshire residents during coronavirus outbreak

Magpas Air Ambulance is reassuring the public in Bedfordshire that it's priority is the safety of it's patients, crew, staff and volunteers while maintaining emergency medical services during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Air Ambulance medical teams remain active across the region, primarily serving the communities of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, but the call outs also cover over 12 counties in and around the East of England).

The teams have been equipped and trained to do so in the safest way possible.

Magpas will continue to follow the latest Public Health and Government advice across our organisation.

As a result, the number of non-clinical staff in their offices has been reduced and they are promoting home working where appropriate.

All fundraising activities have been stopped, and as a charity, it relies solely on donations to continue to operate 24/7.

The current estimate is that the income over the coming months will be £200,000 lower than previously expected; an amount which would normally allow the service to respond to over 60 patients.
