Here's how many vaccines have been administered in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Luton

The latest data from NHS England reveals how many people have received first and second doses against the coronavirus.

The latest data, accurate up until January 17, shows that 47,551 people have received their first doses in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Luton.

NHS England have made localised vaccination figures available for the first time today on Thursday January 21.

Of the 47,551 vaccinations carried out by Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, 22,292 were carried out on people aged over 80, with 25,259 going to those aged under 80.

Second doses of the vaccine have been administered to 4,062 citizens in the area over 80, whilst 624 under 80s in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes have received a second jab.

Figures for the East of England, as of January 17, showed that 377,552 had received their first dose - 186,394 under 80, and 191,158 80 plus. The second dose of the vaccination had been given to 52,312 people - 7,979 under 80, and 44,333 aged 80 and over.

Between 2,000 and 3,000 people in Milton Keynes are now receiving the coronavirus jab every day.

Residents will be contacted by text message or a phone call from their GP to book an appointment for their vaccine.
