EVENING UPDATE: Just one person tests positive for Covid in Bedford

As of last night (April 13), Bedford recorded just one new case of coronavirus, with a total of 13,402 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
There were no deaths in Bedford (485), none in Central Bedfordshire (569) or Luton (496).

Hide AdFrom Friday, Public Health England has changed the way cases are reported again.
Cases that have been identified through a positive rapid lateral flow test will be removed for people who took Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests within three days that were all negative.
Central Bedfordshire has 19 new Covid cases with a total of 15,859, while Luton recorded 25 with a new total of 20,299.
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,259 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,342 and Milton Keynes has 19,979 cases.

Hide AdThe new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.
In the UK, as of today, 32,250,481 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 7,857,396 have received their second dose.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,472 and now stands at 4,375,814. The number of deaths has risen by 23 to 127,123.
