EVENING UPDATE: Bedford records over 100 new cases

Bedford recorded 4 new deaths yesterday

As of last night (December 16), Bedford has recorded 106 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 4,098 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Central Bedfordshire (273), four deaths in Bedford (217) and one death in Luton (236).

Central Bedfordshire has 92 new Covid cases with a total of 4,856 - while Luton recorded 134 with a new total of 7,371.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 9,790 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 22,954 and Milton Keynes has 5,475 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 25,161 and now stands at 1,913,277. The number of deaths has risen by 612 to 65,520.
