Covid update: Bedford records six cases in 24 hours

As of today (April 6), Bedford has recorded just six new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,388 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (484), none in Central Bedfordshire (568) or Luton (495).

Central Bedfordshire has five new Covid cases with a total of 15,809, while Luton recorded 22 with a new total of 20,158.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,187 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,249 and Milton Keynes has 19,892 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 31,622,367 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 5,496,716 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,762 and now stands at 4,364,529. The number of deaths has risen by 20 to 126,882.
